Walmik Karad Encounter : Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar has raised serious concerns about the possibility of an encounter killing of Walmik Karad, the main accused in the Massajog Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh murder case and an extortion matter. Following Karad’s arrest, five beds were brought to the Beed police station, drawing sharp criticism from opposition leaders.

After NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) MLA Rohit Pawar, Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar has criticized the government over this issue. Speaking to the media, Wadettiwar revealed that a senior official informed him about the possibility of Karad’s encounter.
Wadettiwar questioned the special treatment being given to Karad in police custody. He pointed out that beds had never been brought to police stations before, and police officers have never slept on cots in custody. He demanded an investigation into why these arrangements were made specifically for Karad.
The Congress leader made a serious allegation, citing a senior police official, that a “smaller fish” might be eliminated through an encounter to protect a “bigger fish.” He urged the police not to carry out any encounter as it could destroy evidence.
Through Twitter, Wadettiwar accused the Mahayuti government of preferential treatment, sarcastically suggesting that after beds, Karad might receive TV, AC, and five-star hotel meals. He demanded that if the government is serious about investigating Karad, the investigation should be conducted outside Beed district.
Wadettiwar also criticized the government’s overall functioning, highlighting delays in ministerial appointments and the absence of guardian ministers in districts for six months. He questioned why cabinet expansion hasn’t been completed and why four ministers haven’t taken their oaths despite having a clear majority.
