Traffic Diverted in Swargate Area Due to Assembly Elections

Pune : The Traffic Police has announced traffic diversions in the Swargate area on Tuesday (November 19) and Wednesday (November 20) to facilitate the movement of election materials for the upcoming assembly elections.

PMP buses are to be used for distribution of ballot boxes and polling materials. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Branch, Amol Zende said that there will be a change in the traffic system from Swargate to Nehru Stadium on Tuesday and Wednesday. The traffic system has been changed in this area from 6 am to 1 pm on Tuesday (November 19). Vehicles going towards Saras Baug from Deshbhakt Keshavrao Jedhe Chowk in Swargate will have to use the left lane. Right lane will be used for PMP buses carrying polling material.

After the voting on Wednesday (20 November), the road from Solapur Road to Saras Baug will be closed for traffic from 6 pm to 12 pm. The Great Separator at Swargate will be closed for traffic. There will be a change in the traffic system in this area after 6 pm on Wednesday.

“PMP buses will be deployed for transporting ballot boxes and other polling materials,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic Branch) Amol Zende. He urged citizens to cooperate and follow the temporary traffic arrangements.

The voting material will be collected at the main polling station Shri Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmach. Therefore, the traffic police has requested that vehicles going towards Sarasbaug to turn right from Laxminarayan Cinema Chowk and proceed towards Sarasbaug via Mitra Mandal Chowk.
