Today’s Weather: Maharashtra is witnessing continuous weather changes. As the heatwave continues, IMD has now predicted for rain. Orange and Yellow alerts have been issued in the state. Along with this, the IMD has predicted major changes in weather of Maharashtra between April 24 to April 27. IMD has issued alert for farmers and citizens . Heat wave, heavy rain with thunderstorms, as well as hailstorms and heavy rains in some areas will continue.
Apart from Maharashtra, hot and humid weather will possibly continue in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Marathwada, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh. Amravati, Chandrapur, Nagpur and Wardha will witness a severe heatwave on April 24th. These districts are under orange alert. The temperature may rise above 45 degree Celcius here. A yellow alert has been issued in the rest of Vidarbha and Marathwada today. The temperature is likely to increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius compared to April 23. (Today’s Weather)

Nanded may receive rain on April 26. The Meteorological Department has warned that light to moderate rains will occur in Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Ghatmatha, Sangli, Solapur, Nanded, Latur, Dharashiv districts on April 27. Hailstorms with lightning may occur in Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur districts. The Meteorological Department has issued a special yellow alert for these districts.
IMD has advised people to –
- Avoid going out during the afternoon hours
- Drink plenty of water
- Seek protection from direct sunlight.
- Not to stay outdoors during thunderstorms
