Initially budgeted at an estimated cost, the project faced a funding shortfall as construction progressed. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) approved the additional funds after recognizing the existing budget’s inadequacy. With 86% of the work already completed, this injection of Rs. 10 crore will cover the remaining expenses and prevent further construction delays.
The flyover spans a vital stretch connecting Rajaram Bridge to Fun Time and Manikbaug to Hingne, encompassing key residential and commercial areas. The flyover is expected to significantly improve traffic flow and reduce the persistent delays that have plagued commuters in this region.
The flyover construction is proceeding concurrently with the city’s metro project. Both projects are strategically coordinated to minimize disruptions. The integration of metro pillar foundations into the flyover construction process ensures smooth progress for both initiatives.
This additional funding is critical for the timely completion of the flyover, a vital piece of infrastructure for the city’s development. The flyover, along with the ongoing metro project, will significantly enhance connectivity and improve the overall quality of life for Pune residents.
