Nephew Ajit, along with his wife Sunetra Pawar and other senior party leaders like Praful Patel and Chagan Bhujbal, came to wish Sharad Pawar on his birthday. Meanwhile, a notable development is that Sunetra Pawar has been allocated a bungalow directly opposite Sharad Pawar’s residence. She has been given the 11 Janpath bungalow next to Sonia Gandhi’s, while Sharad Pawar’s residence is at 6 Janpath.
Media reports suggest that a small dinner party is planned this evening in Delhi to celebrate Sharad Pawar’s birthday. Ajit Pawar is expected to attend. According to reports, citing sources, only close friends have been invited. An associate of Ajit Pawar confirmed that the Deputy Chief Minister will certainly attend, though it remains unclear if his wife Sunetra will join. Notably, this is the first meeting between Sharad and Ajit Pawar after the NCP split, following more than a year of distance. During the Lok Sabha elections, Ajit Pawar had fielded his wife Sunetra against Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule, but she was defeated. Subsequently, Sunetra was sent to the Rajya Sabha. In the assembly elections, Sharad Pawar fielded his nephew Yugendra Pawar from Baramati, who lost by over 100,000 votes.

Ajit Pawar’s visit today has sparked speculation about his desire to improve relations with his uncle. He has been careful not to mix politics with family, avoiding personal comments against Sharad Pawar during election campaigns. He even reprimanded party members who attempted to target Sharad Pawar and publicly expressed regret for fielding Sunetra against his sister Supriya, stating that family members should not be dragged into politics.
