Punit Balan Group: Pune, March 11, 2024 – The Punit Balan Group has donated ₹5 lakh to the Pune Police Welfare Fund during the Fourth ‘Friendship Trophy’ Cricket Championship Tournament. The donation reflects their support for Pune Police, who work round the clock to maintain law and order.

The tournament brought together teams from Ganpati mandals, Navratra Utsav mandals, and Dhol-Tasha pathaks. A friendly match took place between the Punit Balan Group team and Pune City Police Force team. In the match, the Punit Balan Group team scored 123 runs for 4 wickets in 10 overs. Key players included Punit Balan, who scored 26 not out, Rahul Sathe with 32 runs, Ruturaj Veerkar scoring 27 runs, and Atish Kumbhar adding 21 not out.
The Pune City Police Force team chased but ended at 68 runs for 8 wickets in 10 overs. Vipul Gaikwad scored 17 not out, Abhijit Dhere made 11 runs, and Ulhas Kadam contributed 10 runs. Bowlers Kunal Bhilare and Aditya Karjatkar took 2 wickets for 8 runs each, while Aniket Kumbhar took 2 wickets for 11 runs. The Punit Balan Group team won the match by 55 runs, and Rahul Sathe was declared Man of the Match.
During the donation ceremony, Punit Balan, Director of PBG, along with Janhavi Dhariwal-Balan, Director of Manikchand Oxyrich, and Shobhatai Dhariwal, Director of RMD Foundation, handed over the ₹5 lakh cheque to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dr. Sandeep Bhajibhakare. Other dignitaries present included DCP Milind Mohite, DCP Himmat Jadhav, and actor Akash Thosar.
Speaking at the event, Punit Balan said, “Pune Police work tirelessly during major festivals like Ganeshotsav and Navratrotsav. This donation is a small step to support their efforts and dedication.”
