Pune experienced severe traffic chaos on major roads, disrupting daily commutes and leaving thousands of residents stranded. Heavy vehicular movement during peak hours led to prolonged delays, with roads like FC Road, JM Road, Laxmi Road, Tilak Road, Mahatma Gandhi Road and Camp area.
The situation worsened due to ongoing road construction, narrowing lanes and creating bottlenecks during peak hours. Additionally, the increase in vehicle density, attributed to the holiday season, further compounded the problem. Commuters reported delays of up to an hour, with many frustrated by the lack of alternative routes.

Local authorities deployed traffic personnel to key junctions to manage the gridlock and ease congestion. Despite their efforts, the sheer volume of vehicles and reduced road capacity made it challenging to restore normal flow. Officials have requested citizens to plan their travel in advance, use public transport, and avoid unnecessary trips during peak hours.
The Pune Municipal Corporation has assured the public that ongoing roadwork will be completed as soon as possible. Meanwhile, traffic police have promised enhanced monitoring and quick responses to prevent further chaos.
