Pune Tops in National Lok Adalat: A National Lok Adalat was held in Pune district on March 22. This National Lok Adalat was held under the guidance of Principal District and Sessions Judge Mahendra Mahajan. He also serves as the Chairman of the Pune District Legal Services Authority. During this, a total of 1,38,825 cases were resolved, including 1,255 pre-litigation cases and 38,570 settlement cases.

The Cases settled in the Lok Adalat include –
– 8,819 Cases of Bank Loan Recovery
– 31,537 Cases of Compoundable Criminal
– 329 Cases of Electricity Bill Disputes
– 18 Cases of Labor Disputes
– 111 Cases of Land Acquisition
– 163 Cases of Motor Accident Claims Tribunal
– 74 Cases of Matrimonial Disputes
– 1,994 Cases of Negotiable Instruments Act
– 514 Cases of Other Civil Issues
– 2,673 Other Cases
– 7,731 Cases of Revenue
– 84,860 Cases of Water Tax Disputes
– 2 Cases of Consumer Disputes
38,570 cases were resolved out of 97,644 pending cases. It resulted in a recovery of ₹320.68 crore in settlement fees. Additionally, 1,255 cases of pre-litigation claims were resolved, which resulted in the recovery of ₹256.70 crore. In total, ₹577.39 crore was recovered from 1,38,825 resolved cases.
