Pune : The city experienced its coldest day of the season on Wednesday morning, as the mercury dipped to a bone-chilling 9.9 degrees Celsius. This marks the third consecutive day of significant temperature drop in the city. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this trend is expected to persist for the next few days.

The National Defence Academy (NDA) emerged as the coldest location in Pune, with temperatures plummeting to 8.9 degrees Celsius. Pashan followed closely, recording a minimum temperature of 9.1 degrees Celsius. On Monday and Tuesday, Pune’s temperatures were 12.1 and 10.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.

IMD officials attribute this sudden temperature decline to the influx of cold winds from the north. The absence of any significant weather systems and cloud cover has led to rapid surface cooling, further contributing to the drop in temperatures.
