Senior Inspector Nandakumar Gaikwad of Parvati police station confirmed that Selukar sustained a fractured right leg and lost a tooth in the accident. Her son, who was riding pillion, fortunately escaped without injury. Local residents quickly transported her to a private hospital in Bibvewadi, where doctors reported her condition as stable.
The tempo driver, apparently unaware of the fallen sack and subsequent accident, continued driving. Police have obtained the vehicle’s registration number from eyewitnesses and have filed an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Motor Vehicles Act.
This incident has raised questions about cargo security measures and road safety protocols on Pune’s busy flyovers. (Pune Road Accident)
