Pune Records 39.8°C Other parts of Pune also felt the heat, with Koregaon Park reaching 39.1°C and Chinchwad hitting 39.4°C. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this temperature spike is due to the lack of active weather systems, clear skies and Solar radiations over Maharashtra.
IMD experts warn that above-normal temperatures will persist across the state for the next three to four days. Residents are advised to take precautions, stay hydrated, and avoid prolonged sun exposure during peak hours and be covered and avoid exposure directly with the sun. IMD also raised concern that this type of conditions are unlikely for early March. If this continues water shortage and excessive electricity usage can be a major problem in the upcoming days.
