Pune : The Pune PMC has intensified its drive to recover outstanding property taxes, a crucial source of funding for city development. To this end, five dedicated recovery teams have been actively working since December 2, 2024, resulting in the collection of ₹71,41,85,393 in arrears.

However, a significant number of property owners, both residential and commercial, continue to default on their tax payments. To address this, the Pune PMC will implement a more stringent measure starting January 1, 2025.

Five central recovery teams, comprising plumbers, laborers, and divisional/ward inspectors, will commence disconnecting water supply to properties with outstanding property tax liabilities.

Water connections will be restored only upon full payment of the outstanding dues.

Madhav Jagtap, Deputy Commissioner of the Taxation and Collection Department, urged property owners to cooperate by promptly clearing their taxes and avoiding disruption to their water supply.
