Pune Metro Power Maintenance Postponed: Power supply will continue uninterrupted in key Pune areas as authorities postpone the scheduled maintenance work on high-voltage transmission lines connected to Pune Metro infrastructure. The Maharashtra State Electricity And Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) and Pune Metro had initially planned maintenance activities on the Shivajinagar-Hinjewadi route that would have affected thousands of residents.
The maintenance work primarily involved underground 132 kV power lines essential for the ongoing metro construction along the Shivajinagar-Hinjewadi corridor. The original schedule included power suspension from three major substations: the 220/132 kV facilities at Ganeshkhind and Chinchwad, along with the GKRS ultra-high voltage substation in Kothrud.
Residents in multiple areas would have faced an extended power outage from 8 AM onwards on February 1, 2025. The affected regions included Shivajinagar, Deccan, Ganeshkhind and surrounding localities.
However, the authorities have decided to postpone the maintenance operations, ensuring regular power distribution from all substations. This decision benefits thousands of residential and commercial consumers who will now receive normal electricity supply throughout February 1.
The rescheduled date for the maintenance work will be announced later by MSEDCL and Pune Metro authorities. (Pune Metro Power Maintenance Postponed)
