Political Suspense Builds in Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde’s Silence Raises Doubts
Mumbai : After a massive electoral success in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, there was hope that the Mahayuti alliance would form the government without any complications. However, due to the political drama unfolding in Maharashtra, the Mahagathbandhan’s swearing-in ceremony is being delayed. Currently, it is being said that the Mahayuti swearing-in ceremony will take place on December 5th. Considering Eknath Shinde’s apparent dissatisfaction and silence, there are doubts about whether the ceremony will indeed happen on that date.
According to media reports, the ongoing political turmoil in the state has increased unease within the Mahagathbandhan, especially the BJP. Amidst these developments, there are speculations that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde might take a significant decision. Shinde held a meeting with select leaders at Varsha Bungalow on Friday evening and then departed for his native village Dhere in Satara district. A legislator from the Shinde group, Sanjay Shirsath, made a suggestive statement regarding this.
He said, “Whenever Eknath Shinde faces a political dilemma or feels he needs time to think or make a big decision, he goes to his village. Now that he has returned home, he might make a significant decision by tomorrow evening. He will make a decision on the political upheaval in the state.”
It’s worth noting that on Thursday night, a meeting was held at the residence of Union Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. Key leaders of the Mahayuti were present. At this point, Devendra Fadnavis’s name has been finalized as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. In the photo session after the meeting, Eknath Shinde appeared disheartened. After the Mahayuti leaders returned from Delhi, a meeting regarding account sharing was supposed to be held in Mumbai on Thursday. However, Shinde’s demand for home affairs did not progress, and the Mahayuti meeting was canceled.
Shinde suddenly packed his bag from Varsha Bungalow and left for his hometown Dhere in Satara. After reaching Dhere village on Friday, Shinde left his house without speaking to anyone. Today, he might visit the Janni Mata Temple and Utteshwar Temple in the village. Thus, political corridors are now buzzing with speculation about what is truly going on in Eknath Shinde’s mind.
