Seven individuals have been booked under the POCSO Act for allegedly following and disturbing a Union Minister’s daughter and her friends during a local fair. The Minister’s daughter, along with her friends, was at the the festival when a group of men started following them. Initially, they ignored them, but as it continued, they grew uncomfortable and felt insecure. The group allegedly tried to approach them multiple times, leading to fear and distress. The also allegedly tried recording them and taking their photos. That is when the constable with the girls stepped in and had a argument with the molesters.
Realizing the seriousness of the situation, the victims contacted their family, who immediately sought help from the police. Law enforcement quickly responded and filed a POCSO case against the accused. The police have assured strict action, stating, “We are committed to ensuring safety, and such behavior will not be tolerated.” Investigations are ongoing.
This incident highlights the increasing issue of public harassment, especially at crowded events. If a daughter of a MP can face such things one cannot imagine how the common people are surviving in such situations. The recent times have shown that a strict measure is very much needed in Maharashtra with the increasing crime rate and incidents.
