Passenger Concerns Rise: Pune International Airport is India’s Ninth-busiest airport for passenger transportation, but passengers have raised severe concerns in traffic congestion. Sky farers have raised demands to urgently address the persistent congestion at the cab-pickup zone and its resulting delays. Commuters are increasingly frustrated by the traffic congestion in the airport’s cab area, with many calling for improved management to streamline the process.

Long waiting times for cabs and chaotic vehicle movement are frequent complaints from passengers especially during peak hours. This congestion not only inconveniences passengers but also creates bottlenecks at the airport entrance, impacting overall traffic flow.

These have led to a sudden drop in the ranking of its Global Airport Service Quality (ASQ) from 71st position to 74th. Frequent flyers and travelers have emphasized the need for immediate measures, such as designated parking spaces, better and visible signage and stricter traffic control and flow.

In response, Airport Authorities have acknowledged passenger complaints and are actively working to improve and address the issue. Plans are underway to introduce additional and designated lanes, implement a digital queue management system, and collaborate with cab service providers to streamline operations.
