Mumbai: Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) faction leader and MP Sanjay Raut has sent a defamation notice to BJP leader and Union Minister Narayan Rane. Sanjay Raut has sent this notice regarding the statement given by Narayan Rane on 15 January. Narayan Rane had said that at the behest of Balasaheb Thackeray, he had spent money to make Sanjay Raut a Rajya Sabha MP.
Now it remains to see how Narayan Rane responds to Sanjay Raut’s notice in the court. Narayan Rane gave this statement on January 15 during Konkan Festival in Bhandup, Mumbai. According to Sanjay Raut’s lawyer Sarthak P Shetty, this statement of Rane is damaging to the reputation of Sanjay Raut and is based on lies.
Sanjay Raut told the media on Friday that people like Narayan Rane and Kirit Somaiya are puppets of the BJP. They say anything without knowing the truth. Rane says that my name was not there in the voter list. Earlier I had voted 25 times in different elections, so if my name was not there in the voter’s list so how did I vote? Am I Bangladeshi or Pakistani?
Raut further said, if Rane made me an MP then who was Balasaheb Thackeray? The Shiv Sena chief made me an MP. Narayan Rane was also made Chief Minister by Balasaheb himself. Balasaheb Thackeray gave us all the posts. Narayan Rane will have to apologize for his false statement. All Shiv Sena leaders are going to file a case against him.
Shiv Sena’s Thackeray faction MP further said, Narayan Rane should prove that my name was not in the voter list. He said that they spent money to get me elected in the Rajya Sabha. Doing so comes under the ambit of anti-corruption. Along with BJP, Narayan Rane is lying. Narayan Rane will now have to answer these allegations in the court. Sanjay Raut also warned that he is going to send a notice against Kirit Somaiya as well.
