Dr. Singh served as India’s 13th Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014. Renowned for his economic reforms, he played a pivotal role in transforming India’s economy. His leadership during challenging times earned him respect both nationally and globally.
Government offices, schools, and banks remain closed in several states today. The Central Government is yet to release any official public holiday notice.

There will be official holiday today in Telangana State as announced by Revanth Reddy. CM Atishi has cancelled all government programs today in Delhi. Seven days of national mourning have been announced by the union government to pay tribute to the former PM.
According to the RBI’s holiday list, Kohima in Nagaland observes a bank holiday for Christmas, but it is unclear if banks will remain close on December 27.
