Major Update in Santosh Deshmukh Murder Case: The administration is gearing up to take action against the accused in the Santosh Deshmukh murder case under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA). Given the serious nature of the crimes committed by these individuals, including previous criminal records, Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis had earlier indicated that the accused would face action under this stringent law.

The authorities are currently gathering detailed information about the serious crimes committed by each accused. Once the gravity of these crimes is confirmed, MCOCA charges will be pressed against them.
All six accused in this case – Sudarshan Ghule, Sudhir Sangale, Jayram Chate, Pratik Ghule, Mahesh Kedari, and Krishna Andhale – have a criminal history. This has expedited the process of invoking MCOCA against them.
Main Accused Sudarshan Ghule has a criminal record spanning ten years.
The primary accused, Sudarshan Ghule, has a criminal record dating back ten years. He has been implicated in several serious crimes, including attempted murder, registered at Dharur police station. Additionally, he has eight cases registered against him at Kej police station, involving charges of assault, theft, kidnapping, and extortion in 2019. He has also been booked for arson in Ambajogai.
Other Accused and Their Criminal Records –
Mahesh Sakharam Kedari has five cases registered against him at Dharur police station, including assault, theft, causing hurt, and attempted murder in 2023. He is currently in police custody for his involvement in the Santosh Deshmukh murder case.
Jayram Manik Chate, aged 21, has three cases registered against him between 2022 and 2024. These include attempted murder at Dharur police station, causing hurt at Kej police station, and his involvement in the Santosh Deshmukh murder case.
Pratik Bhimrao Ghule, aged 24, has five cases registered against him at Kej police station between 2017 and 2024. These include assault, causing hurt, rioting, and his involvement in the Santosh Deshmukh murder. He is currently in police custody.
Krishna Shamrao Andhale, aged 24, is still absconding. He has six cases registered against him between 2020 and 2024. These include rioting, assault, attempted murder, and extortion. He is wanted in connection with the Santosh Deshmukh murder case.
Sudhir Sangale is also accused of murder in the Santosh Deshmukh case and is currently in police custody.
