Mumbai: The troubles of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut are increasing. Sanjay Raut did not appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) yesterday. ED had summoned him for questioning in Rs 1034-crore Patra Chawl land scam case of Mumbai. According to information received from sources, Swapna Patkar, who testified against Sanjay Raut in this case, is threatened. Pressure is being put on Swapna to withdraw her statement.
In the letter found inside her newspaper, it was written that ED is probing the Patra Chawl case, in which Swapna should not go to give statement and say that she had given earlier statement against Sanjay Raut under pressure of BJP leader Kirit Somaiya. After this Swapna Patkar complained about this incident to the Vakola police station.
Swapna Patkar has said in her complaint that she suspects Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut to be behind this. Because, only Sanjay Raut will get the maximum benefit from this. ED has recorded the statement of Sapna Patkar in this case. On the other hand, the ED had issued summons to Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut asking him to appear on July 27 for questioning in the money laundering case. But he did not appear.
