Mumbai : Monsoon Rain has arrived in the southern part of Konkan, Central Maharashtra. The maximum temperature of the state is also declining. Light to moderate showers are forecast in Mumbai for the next four days from Monday.
The meteorological department has forecast showers with thunderstorms and lightning in central Maharashtra, Mumbai, Thane and Palghar areas of the state. Due to activation of low pressure belt along the Arabian Sea, IMD has forecast heavy rains for the next five days. Heavy rains are also expected in Konkan in next 24 hours.
The meteorological department has warned of torrential to very heavy rains in the state for the next five days. The highest rainfall is expected in the Konkan region of Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, pre-monsoon rains are falling in some parts of Vidarbha. Monsoon has not started yet in Vidarbha, Marathwada and Solapur. Meanwhile, the monsoon is expected to begin in the region in the next two days, the meteorological department said.
The monsoon has entered the lower Konkan region with heavy pre-monsoon rains in various parts of the state. Heavy rains are expected in Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri and Raigad districts of South Konkan. The meteorological department has also warned of rain with thunderstorms in the rest of the state.
