Mumbai: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut will remain in jail for the time being in Patra Chawl case. In a case of money laundering, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut was produced in a special court in Mumbai by Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday. The court has sent Raut to judicial custody till August 22.

The court has allowed to provide medicines and homemade food to Sanjay Raut during judicial custody. Sanjay Raut’s lawyer had given papers related to his health in the court. On the basis of these documents, the court has allowed Sanjay Raut to take homemade food and medicines. Along with this, the court has also asked the Superintendent of Arthur Road Jail to give information about Sanjay Raut’s health so that arrangements can be made for him.

After the court’s decision, Sanjay Raut will now be taken to Arthur Road Jail. The ED had on Saturday questioned his wife Varsha Raut for over nine hours and recorded her statement. Varsha Raut came out of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office on Saturday night after recording her statement for over nine hours in connection with the alleged Patra Chawl redevelopment scam. She told reporters while leaving the ED office that she has answered all the questions asked by the ED officials. Varsha Raut then said that the ED officials have not called her again yet. She said that she will not leave Shiv Sena and will continue to support Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray.
