Rain with thunderstorm likely in Vidarbha, Alert in Mumbai, Pune too

Mumbai : Maharashtra Rain Update : The water level in many rivers has reduced due to no rains in the state for the last two days (Maharashtra Rain Update). But as the weather remains cloudy in Maharashtra, there is a possibility of rain. (Maharashtra Rain Update)

Meanwhile, there is a chance of rain with lightning at isolated places in East Vidarbha, East Marathwada today (22nd). While the rest of the Maharashtra will remain mostly clear, the Meteorological Department has predicted light rains. Mumbai, Pune will have chance of rain but light showers may occur as the weather is cloudy.

As the low pressure area over the west coast cleared, there is no rain in many districts of the state. Yesterday (21st) the weather was cloudy. Chandrapur, Gondia, Gadchiroli in East Vidarbha, Hingoli, Nanded, Latur districts in East Marathwada may receive rain with lightning at isolated places today (22nd). Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted no rain in the rest of the state.

Also, this belt is active from Ganganagar in Rajasthan to Bay of Bengal in Northeast. There is cyclonic wind condition over Jharkhand and surrounding areas. A low pressure belt is active from Karnataka to Comorin area. Though the rains have paused, light to moderate showers are continuing at isolated places in Konkan, Ghatmathya and Vidarbha.

Meanwhile, Igatpuri in Nashik district recorded the highest rainfall of 90 mm in the last 24 hours. The Meteorological Department said that 70 millimeters of rain fell in Arjuni Morgaon in Gondia.

Vidarbha: Arjuni Morgaon recorded 70 mm, Sakoli Division 50 mm, Lakhni 40 mm rain. Sironcha, Sadak Arjuni Guru 30 mm each, Dungarwadi on Western Ghats recorded 60 mm rain. Lonavala, Shirgaon, Davadi, Khopoli – each recorded 50 mm rain. Koyna Navaja, Tamhini, Khand recorded 40 mm rain each.

Rain with thundershowers is likely in parts of West Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha and North Maharashtra. Along with this, heavy rain is also likely in Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra. Many rivers have flooded in Vidarbha too.
