Pune: Two people including a woman arrested for demanding bribe of Rs 1 lakh for labor insurance

Pune: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) nabbed two brokers who demanded Rs 1 lakh to get labor insurance amount. A case was registered against both of them in Shivajinagar police station.

The arrested have been identified as Yogita Arun Shendge (age 40, resident Thergaon) and Farooq Hanif Pathan (age 56, resident Bopodi). A young man had lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Department.

The complainant’s mother passed away last year. His mother was registered as a construction worker with the Maharashtra Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board. Complainant’s mother was to get Rs. 2 lakh 34 thousand as labor insurance. Shendge demanded one lakh rupees from the youth to get this amount from the labor office after this, the youth filed a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Department.
