Pune: Special squad of trained police to be deployed to tighten noose on Koyta gang

Pune: Police on patrol will be provided with pistols after rising incidents of attacks on police by Koyta gang. Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar has decided to provide special training to the police. The police team deployed to tighten the noose on Koyta gang will immediately reach the spot and take action in case of any untoward incident.

Police station personnel (Beat Marshals) patrol day and night in different parts of the city. There have been cases of attacks on the on-duty police. In this background, pistols and modern bikes will be provided to the patrolling police. Last month, there was an incident where a policeman was stabbed in Vishrantwadi area after he was asked to close down a restaurant selling Chinese food. The policeman was seriously injured in this incident.

There have been incidents of rioting in crowded areas of the city during the day. As the patrolling policemen only have the sticks to control them, criminals attack them very easily. To enhance the security of these policemen, Pune police has decided to provide pistols to on duty policemen.

250 policemen patrolling different parts of the city have been given special training. 125 state-of-the-art two-wheelers will be made available for patrolling. Two policemen will patrol on a bike. For this, 250 policemen will be given special training.

If the police patrols on the streets increase, the criminals and thieves will get scared. Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar said that the patrolling police personnel of every police station in the city will get modern bikes, and pistol.
