Pune: Pune Police has busted a gang stealing airplane fuel in Lonikalbhor area of Pune. In the action taken by Pune police, 24 thousand liters of fuel, eight tankers worth Rs 2 crore 28 lakh have been seized from the thieves. The police have arrested five people.

Sunil Kumar Prannath Yadav (Age 24, Resident Hadapsar, Native Resident Pratapgarh, Lalganj, Uttar Pradesh), Dajiram Laxman Kalel (Age 37, Native Resident Valai, Taluka Man, Satara), Sachin Ramdas Tambe (Age 40, Resident Hadapsar), Shastri Kavlu Saroj (Age 48, Resident Hadapsar), Sunil Ramdas Tambe (Age 38, Resident Hadapsar) are the names of the arrested thieves.

An officer of Pune police team patrolling Hadapsar area got information about this gang. The tanker was loaded with ATF petrol-diesel from Vashi in Navi Mumbai and headed towards Shirdi airport.

The route of the tanker was decided by the fuel company. Along with this, a special system was installed in it to track the tanker. Meanwhile, the company officials got information about the theft of this fuel. When the police were informed about this, they raided the Hadapsar area and arrested the above five persons.

The police seized two tankers filled with aviation fuel, eight empty tankers, 14 plastic cans, all worth Rs 2 crore 28 lakhs from them. The incident was informed to the senior officials of the fuel company. Officials from the fuel company as well as police officers conducted panchnama of the incident site.
