Pune: Pune Lok Sabha Bypoll: The BJP has started shortlisting candidates for the by-election in the Pune Lok Sabha constituency after the death of Girish Bapat. BJP leader and Pune MP Girish Bapat passed away a few days ago. Pune Lok Sabha constituency has become vacant due to his death.
Meanwhile, the BJP is discussing three names for the by-election. According to the primary information received, BJP is discussing the names of Swarda Bapat, daughter-in-law of Girish Bapat or his son Gaurav Bapat, former Pune mayor Muralidhar Mohal, former Pune MP Sanjay Kakde, Medha Kulkarni and city president Jagdish Mulik.
On the other hand, there is a possibility that newly elected MLA Ravindra Dhangekar will get candidature from MVA.
