Bawankule should speak as per his rights : Sanjay Shirsat

Mumbai: A video of BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule is currently going viral. According to which, BJP is going to contest elections on 240 seats in the assembly. Bawankule is giving these instructions to the workers to prepare for elections in the video. As told by him in the video, the discussion of Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena is getting only 48 seats. It has started discussions political circles. Shinde faction leader Sanjay Shirsat has also expressed anger over Bawankule’s statement. He said that Bawankule should speak as per his rights.

In the viral video, Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that the formula for the distribution of seats for the assembly elections to be held in 2024 has been decided. In this election, BJP will contest on 240 seats. Therefore Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) will be given 48 seats. That’s why the workers should start preparing from now. One such video of him is going viral on social media. This video is being told from two days ago.

Meanwhile, as soon as a controversy arose due to this statement regarding seat sharing, on Saturday, Chandrashekhar Bawankule gave a clarification on this by holding a press conference. Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that only half of what I said has been shown. I had said that Shiv Sena and BJP will contest elections together on 288 assembly seats and 48 Lok Sabha seats. The formula for seat allotment has not been decided yet.

Chandrashekhar Bawankule further said that the assembly elections will be fought in coordination with Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde. We have started preparations to win 288 assembly seats in the state. For this we have started preparations. My point has been distorted.

However, Sanjay Shirsat has expressed his anger on Chandrashekhar Bawankule’s statement. Sanjay Shirsat said that the decision on the distribution of seats is taken by the big leaders of the party. Senior leaders of the party have not yet taken any decision regarding seat sharing. Chandrashekhar Bawankule has no right to talk about seat sharing. That’s why he should speak as much as he has given rights.

On the other hand, Thackeray faction leader Sanjay Raut has strongly criticized the Shinde faction regarding Bawankule’s statement. Sanjay Raut said that the Shinde faction deserves this. Shiv Sena broke the alliance with BJP for one seat. This was the pride of Shiv Sena. Now the Shinde faction will have to chew on the pieces that the BJP will throw away. The aim of BJP was just to break Shiv Sena.

NCP state president Jayant Patil has also targeted the Shinde group and the BJP on Bawankule’s statement. Jayant Patil said that the work of eliminating the local parties is done by the BJP. Friend or foe, BJP’s target is to destroy and defame them. Maharashtra assembly elections are still a year away. Till then there will be no existence of Shinde group. When the assembly elections are held, BJP will contest on all 288 seats.
