NIA raid on PFI office in Pune; 20 suspects detained from Maharashtra

Pune : PFI is a highly controversial institution. It has come to light that this organization has a hub in Pune district. PFI is a very fundamentalist group which is gradually becoming active in the country. NIA (National Investigation Agency NIA) has started action on the suspicion that this group is active not only in one state but in many states. Raids have been conducted in nearly 50 places in the country and 20 places in the state.

Intelligence agencies suspect that PFI is setting up a hub of its activities in Pune. NIA, Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad has taken this action today. In this raid, some materials from the office of PFI have been seized. At the same time, some people have been detained for questioning regarding the crime registered in Nashik. The head office of PFI in Maharashtra is located in Kondhwa area of ​​Pune. A total of 20 people have been detained from Maharashtra and a thorough investigation has been started. Against this backdrop, the secretary has been arrested from Pune.

NIA is conducting raids in connection with providing financial support to terrorists. According to the information provided by the intelligence agencies of Maharashtra to the investigating agencies, the PFI has made Pune district its headquarters. Training centers are being run at some places in Pune. Apart from this, the intelligence agencies said that membership registration has been started by SDPI organization in Jalna and Aurangabad districts.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have raided many locations of the Popular Front of India PFI in 10 states including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka. NIA and ED have conducted house-to-house searches along with offices of state and district level leaders of PFI in these states. 100 more people have been arrested by the investigative agencies in this operation.

This is the biggest operation of the NIA so far, under which many PFI locations have been raided. Investigative agencies are searching the homes and offices of individuals involved in funding terrorism, organizing training camps and radicalizing people to join banned organisations.
