Maharashtra Rain: Next 48 hours crucial, Yellow alert in Mumbai, Pune

Mumbai : Rains have lashed Konkan, ghat areas and Vidarbha. Lanja of Ratnagiri district in Konkan recorded the highest rainfall of 330 mm in the last 24 hours. (Maharashtra Rain) Due to more than 200 mm of rain at several places in Ghat arears, rivers have flooded. Meanwhile, Central Maharashtra and Vidarbha also witnessed heavy rains. In Marathwada, however, it was seen that the intensity of rain has reduced.

Meanwhile, orange alert of heavy rain has been issued in Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Satara, Wardha, Nagpur, Bhandara, Chandrapur areas of the state. Along with this, yellow alert has been given in the areas of Pune, Mumbai, Thane, Sindhudurg, Nashik, Nandurbar, Kolhapur, Akola, Amravati, Gondia. The Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of rain with lightning in Buldana, Washim, Yavatmal districts.

Since the heavy rainfall in Sindhudurg district has abated somewhat yesterday (09), the water level of the rivers has decreased slightly. Heavy rains lashed Ratnagiri district on Tuesday (9th) as well. Stormy winds were blowing in coastal areas. Although the water level of Vashishthi, Jagbudi, Bavanadi, Kajli, Arjuna river has reduced, the rivers are flowing on the warning level.
