Maharashtra : Heavy rain likely in many districts on Sunday, Orange alert in Pune & Raigad

Pune: The Meteorological Department has once again issued an alert regarding heavy rains in Maharashtra. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Thane, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Satara, Akola, Amravati, Nagpur and Wardha for Sunday, August 21. Yellow alert has been issued in these districts.

An orange alert has been issued in Pune and Raigad. It is worth noting that after the onset of monsoon, intermittent rains are continuing in Maharashtra. Earlier on Saturday, the Meteorological Department had issued a yellow alert in Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, Jalna, Parbhani, Nanded, Hingoli, Akola, Amravati and Wardha in the state. On the other hand, an orange alert was issued in view of the possibility of heavy rains in Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Chandrapur and Bhandara.

The air quality index in Maharashtra is being recorded in the ‘good to satisfactory’ category in most of the cities. The air quality index in Mumbai and Pune has been recorded in the ‘good’ category.
