Mumbai: There has been a slight reduction in the food expenses at Maharashtra CM and Deputy CM’s bungalow. In the budget session of the Vidhan Sabha, Leader of Opposition Ajit Pawar had raised questions on the bill for food in the Chief Minister’s bungalow.
After the comments of the opposition, the caterers of both these bungalows have been changed and now the contract has been given to new and cheap caterers. Leader of Opposition Ajit Pawar had asked that the expenditure of Rs 2 crore 40 lakh for food in Varsha Bungalow in four months is a bit excessive.
CM and Deputy CM of Maharashtra appointed new cheap caterers for Rs 5 crore –
Maharashtra CM and Deputy CM have appointed cheap caterers for their Varsha and Sagar bungalows. These new caterers have been given a contract of 5 crores. This contract has been given for 2 years. Three companies had filled the tender for this contract. The contract has been given to Sukh Sagar Hospitality and Chhatradhari Caterers. Sukhsagar Caterers has been appointed for CM Shinde’s Varsha Bungalow and Chhatradhari Caterers for Deputy CM Fadnavis’s Sagar Bungalow.
The cost of food for the year in CM’s Varsha bungalow –
Both these caterers are going to serve 44 types of dishes. 3.5 crore will be spent catering for CM’s Varsha Bungalow, while a provision has been made to spend Rs 1.5 crore on Deputy CM’s Sagar Bungalow. This budget has been approved for two years and a huge cut has been made in expenses occurring on food.
