Mumbai: Senior Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut on Monday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should come forward and disclose his educational qualifications. Also, he questioned what was the need to hide it.
Raut, a Rajya Sabha member, said the Prime Minister’s degree should be displayed at the entrance of Parliament House. He said that the parliamentarians and the country should know about his educational qualification. Raut made this comment while talking to reporters in New Delhi.
The Gujarat High Court three days ago set aside a Central Information Commission (CIC) order asking Gujarat University to inform Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal about Prime Minister Modi’s degree.
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Maharashtra minister Chandrakant Patil hit back at Raut, saying he should exercise restraint while speaking about people holding top constitutional posts like the prime minister.
Patil said, “While commenting on the person holding the highest constitutional post, there is a need to follow certain codes in politics and social and cultural fields. The level of allegations is going down.”
It may be noted that while allowing Gujarat University’s appeal against the CIC order, Justice Biren Vaishnav also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Raut claimed that the degrees of most of the BJP leaders were fake. Raut said on Monday, “Narendra Modi sold tea on the railway platform and did MA in Political Science. This degree is historic and revolutionary. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should display his degree at the grand entrance of the new Parliament House.
