Mumbai : Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray resigned late on Wednesday ahead of the floor test. The Supreme Court dismissed the Uddhav government’s plea and refused to stay the floor test in the Maharashtra Assembly. With the resignation of Thackeray, the way has been cleared for the formation of a new government in Maharashtra.

Now news is coming that Eknath Shinde has reached Mumbai from Goa. He has also brought letters of support of 39 Shiv Sena MLAs. After sometime he will go to Raj Bhavan with Devendra Fadnavis and stake claim to form the government.

Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde will reach Raj Bhavan at around 3:30 am today and will meet Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari. Eknath Shinde has claimed the support of 49 MLAs. The BJP says that they have the support of a total of 170 MLAs.

There is a strong possibility of BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis becoming the Chief Minister. The new government will include several independents, including rebel Shiv Sena MLAs.

Sources have said that only Chief Minister (CM) and Deputy CM will take oath in the next 48 hours as Uddhav Thackeray has resigned from the post of Maharashtra CM amid the political crisis in the state. According to sources, all the rebel MLAs and independent MLAs of Shinde faction will be present during the swearing-in ceremony.
