Pune – Savitribai Phule Pune University Vice Chancellor Dr. Nitin Karmalkar’s term has come to an end. Therefore, Dr. Karbhari Kale, Vice Chancellor of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar University of Technology has been given the post of Vice Chancellor of the University.
Kale will accept the post of Vice Chancellor from Karmalkar on Wednesday at 5 pm. The dispute between the governor and the state government over the selection of the vice-chancellor has hampered the selection process. Therefore, after the retirement of Dr. Nitin Karmalkar, Pune University did not get a full time Vice Chancellor.
It is hoped that the government will complete the process of selecting a full-time vice-chancellor as soon as possible so as not to affect the academic functioning of the university.
