Budget 2023: Important points for Maharashtra in this budget

New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today presented the last budget of the Modi government before the 2024 elections. This was the last budget of the second tenure of the Modi government. In such a situation, Nirmala Sitharaman made many big announcements including tax cuts. Now there will be no tax on annual income up to Rs 7 lakh. Not only this, Nirmala Sitharaman gave a big gift to women and senior citizens. Also in this budget it was announced to start ‘Mhila Samman Bachat Patra’ scheme.

Apart from this, big announcements were made for farmers, youth and students. Nirmala Sitharaman made big announcements at the national level. Let us understand what will be the effect of these announcements on Maharashtra, what Maharashtra got from this budget.

What farmers will get from this year’s budget?
The Finance Minister said in the budget speech that agriculture startups will be set up to promote agriculture, for which the youth will be encouraged. An agricultural fund will be created for this. This will help farmers to find innovative and affordable solutions. Farmers can get more benefit by using modern technology. She said that it has been decided to increase the budget of agriculture to 20 lakh keeping in mind animal husbandry, dairy and fisheries. 2,200 crore will be spent to provide disease-free, quality planting material through self-sustaining clean plants programme, the finance minister said.

Agriculture Credit Card
Government announced to increase Agriculture Credit Card (KCC) by 20 Lakh Crore. Last year it was Rs 18.5 lakh crore. Apart from this, through digital public infrastructure for agriculture, farmers will be able to get information from fertilizers, seeds to markets and startups. Through the Agriculture Accelerator Fund, the youth of the village will get an opportunity to start a startup. Also, provision of 6 thousand crores has been made for the development of fishery business.

New Credit Guarantee Scheme
There are more than 6 crore small and medium enterprises and more than 84 thousand startups in the country. For them, the new credit guarantee scheme will come into force from 1st April, 2023. In this, loans of up to Rs 2 lakh crore will be given to small and medium enterprises without guarantee. Also the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Package will be launched, which will help MSMEs to increase production and reach the market.

Recruitment of teachers and support staff
Also, 38,800 teachers and support staff will be recruited in 740 Eklavya schools in the country in the next 3 years. Three and a half lakh tribal students are studying in these schools. This scheme helps residential schools run for tribal students. This will benefit the youth of Maharashtra.

Home for all
To fulfill the dream of every household, the government has increased the expenditure on Prime Ministerial Housing to Rs 79,000 crore and the expenditure on PM housing has increased by 67%.

Relief for senior citizens
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while presenting the General Budget made several important announcements related to savings schemes. Senior citizens have also been given relief in this budget. The government has increased the maximum deposit limit of Senior Citizen Savings Scheme (SCSS) to Rs 30 lakh. Which was earlier Rs.15 lakhs. So now senior citizens can double their deposits. Government pays 8% interest under this scheme.

157 New Nursing Colleges
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that 157 new nursing colleges will be established in collaboration with the existing 157 new medical colleges established after 2014. The PMPBTG Development Mission will be launched specifically to improve the socio-economic status of the tribal groups, so that the PBTG settlements can be equipped with basic amenities. 15,000 crores will be made available to implement this scheme in the next 3 years.

33 percent increase in spending on infrastructure
Budget 2023-24 has announced a 33 percent increase in infrastructure spending to Rs 10 lakh. It accounts for 3.3 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Mahila Samman Bachat Yojana
A big decision has also been taken for women in the budget. The government has introduced a special scheme for women. This scheme is named Mahila Samman Bachat Yojana. Under this scheme, the government will give 7.5 percent interest to women.
