Ahmedabad: Everyone knows about Lord Krishna’s love for Makhan. Kanha devotees offer him Makhan Mishri every year on Janmashtami. But do you know that apart from Makhan, the Prasad of Panjiri is also very dear to Lord Shri Krishna. This year the festival of Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated on 18th August. According to the Hindu calendar, Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated on the Ashtami date of the Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month. So in such a situation, let us know how to make Panjiri Prasad for worship.

Ingredients for making Panjiri –
Coriander Powder – 1 cup
Ghee – 3 tbsp
Makhane – 1/2 cup (chopped)
Sugar powder- 1/2 cup
Grated coconut – 1/2 cup
Dry fruit – 1/2 small bowl (chopped)
Chironji seeds – 1 tbsp
Four Magaz / Melon seeds – 3 tbsp (peeled)

Method to make Panjiri-
To make Coriander Panjiri, first heat 2 tablespoons of ghee in a pan. Now add coriander powder and fry it for 4-5 minutes and take it out in a bowl. Add remaining ghee to the pan and fry the makhana for 2-3 minutes while stirring continuously. Add dry fruits, chironji seeds, magaz/melon seeds, sugar, coconut powder and coriander powder on low flame and mix. Take out the prepared panjiri in a serving bowl and offer it to Kanha ji and eat it as prasad.
