According to the information, after almost a decade long research, for the first time in the world, the growth of cancer cells will be stopped with Ayurvedic treatment. Doctors of Jaipur-based National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), under the Union Ministry of AYUSH, have discovered a drug named V2S2, which has been prepared from hydro-alcoholic ingredients, through Ayurveda principles.

The drug will have to go through clinical trials before coming into the market, which is going to start from Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai. After this pre-clinical trial, further testing will be done in Jammu. NIA Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sanjeev Sharma told that pre-clinical trials will start soon at Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai. After this the trial will be completed in Jaipur and Jammu and Kashmir.

Dr. Jyoti Kode, Chief Scientist, Tata Memorial Hospital, said that the model for this study has been prepared keeping in mind the modern scientific facts. It may take about two to three years to complete the clinical trial phase but in this period they will have concrete results and then it can be included in the treatment regimen. An agreement has been signed between NIA, Tata Memorial Hospital, AYUSH Department of Jammu and Emil Pharmaceutical for the trial. After the completion of the trial, the production and distribution of the drug will be done by Emil Pharma, which may take about a year. After analyzing its results, further study will be done by NIA and AYUSH Department of J&K.

Dr. Sanjeev Sharma said that in many chapters of Ayurveda there is a description of stopping the growth of cancer cells. Doctors were studying about this formula for a long time. There was some hindrance in it during the Corona epidemic but when it was prepared in the laboratory, it confirmed anti-carcinogenic properties. Also, it was found that it is also helpful in boosting immunity.

According to a 2017 study published in the Journal of Global Oncology, cancer mortality in India is almost double that of developed countries. According to this, seven out of every 10 cancer patients die in India, whereas in developed countries this number is three or four.
