Origin of the Kolhapur Violence:
The violence erupted on Tuesday (June 6, 2023) when some youths shared social media posts supporting Aurangzeb. The next day, local people allegedly posted controversial audio messages with a picture of Tipu Sultan. This led to political and social organizations organizing protests. During the protest, stone-pelting began, which escalated the situation and spread violence in the area.
