State government renames Aurangabad as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Mumbai: The new CM of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde has announced to change the names of Aurangabad and Osmanabad. He has told that this decision has been taken in the Maharashtra cabinet meeting.  Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held a cabinet meeting today. Some decisions of the previous government were officially considered in this meeting. Under this, an important decision has been taken to change the names of cities.

The previous government, being in a minority, took some hasty decisions. The proposals for those decisions were presented once again. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that we have taken the decision accordingly. After the discussion in this meeting, Aurangabad has been named Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Osmanabad as Dharashiv. It has been decided to name Navi Mumbai airport after DB Patil.

In addition, MMRDA has sanctioned Rs 60,000 crore for various projects in Mumbai and suburban areas. In the first phase, the government has decided to approve Rs 12,000 crore in this cabinet meeting.
