New Delhi : Congress President Sonia Gandhi is battling a serious infection in the respiratory tract. After Covid, bleeding from her nose was reported.

Former Union Minister and Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh told that Sonia Gandhi is still admitted in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi. She is undergoing treatment for a respiratory tract infection and post-Covid-19 complications. She is under the close supervision of doctors.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that a ‘fungal infection’ has been detected in the lower respiratory tract of the Congress President. He said that she is undergoing treatment in view of this infection and complications after the Covid-19 infection. Congress President Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on June 12 due to health complications after being diagnosed with Covid. She was found infected with the coronavirus on 2 June.

Jairam Ramesh issued a statement saying that the treatment of the Congress President is going on at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. On Thursday, she had trouble breathing. After this, it was found in the investigation that she had a fungal infection in her respiratory tract. She has other health issues too. Doctors are keeping an eye on her health.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued fresh summons to the Congress President to appear for questioning on June 23 in a money laundering case related to the National Herald. Earlier, she was asked to appear on June 8, but due to being infected with corona, she had requested for a new date to appear before the investigating agency.
