Security guard receives Rs 1 crore tax notice from Income Tax Department

Mumbai: A strange news has come out from Kalyan, adjacent to Mumbai. A notice of Rs 1 crore 14 lakh has been sent by the Income Tax Department to a person working as a house keeping and security guard. This security guard was surprised after getting this notice. His name is Chandrakant Varak.

56-year-old Chandrakat Varak reached the Income Tax Department with his complaint and inquired. He was even more surprised to hear the answer. He was told that using his PAN card number, shopping has been done abroad. After this, Chandrakant Varak said that he does not understand anything. This matter should be properly investigated and he should be relieved of this matter.

Chandrakant Varak lives with his sister in Jain Chawl in Thankarpada area of Kalyan. He sometimes work as house keeping or security guards and sometimes as courier boy. Somehow, he make living with the salary of 10 to 15 thousand.

When he inquired further, the Income Tax Department told him that goods have been purchased in China using his PAN card and papers. Tax has not been paid on those purchases. The officials have asked him to approach the police station.
