New Delhi: Another defamation case against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was to be heard in Patna court today (Wednesday). However, Rahul Gandhi could not reach the hearing. Therefore, the next hearing will be held on April 25. Earlier, the Surat court had convicted Rahul Gandhi in a similar defamation case last month.

The court has also sentenced Rahul Gandhi to two years. Therefore, he was also suspended as MP. Currently, Rahul Gandhi is out on bail.

Meanwhile, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi has filed a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi in Bihar. So, many have wondered whether Rahul Gandhi can be punished multiple times for the same crime.

According to Supreme Court lawyer Fujail Khan, according to the Indian judicial system and Article 13 of the Constitution, a person can be punished only once for a charge or crime. But crime expert Sushil Tekriwal has a different opinion. According to Tekriwal, the Patna court may order a trial in the matter despite the Surat court order. It is likely that Rahul Gandhi’s problems will increase.
