Pune ATS arrests youth over ‘terror funding’ by Kashmiri organization

Pune : Pune anti-terror squad arrested a youth from Dapoli area today. The name of the accused is Junaid Mohammad (age 18). The youth was in touch with a militant group in Jammu and Kashmir. He is accused of being paid by a militant group in Kashmir to carry out assassinations in the state.

According to the Pune ATS, the Kashmir-based militant group Ghazwate Al Hind had deposited Rs 10,000 in the youth’s bank account a month ago. He came in contact with the organization through social media.

The ATS alleges that the funding was done to carry out terrorist activities. The accused will be produced in Pune court in the afternoon. His custody will be sought from the ATS for further investigation into the matter.

Accused unemployed
The arrested accused Junaid Mohammad is only 18 years old and is said to be unemployed. He had come in contact with a terrorist organization in Jammu and Kashmir through social media. After that, an organization in Kashmir had deposited Rs 10,000 a month ago in his bank account. The ATS had been on the trail of the accused for several days.
