MIT founder Dr. Vishwanath Karad’s wife Urmila Karad passes away

Pune: Veteran poet and writer Urmila Karad, wife of Prof. Dr. Vishwanath Karad, founder president of Maeer’s MIT, passed away on Wednesday.  She was 79 years old.  She breathed her last at Vishwaraj Hospital in Loni Kalbhor on Wednesday.

She had deep knowledge of saint literature –
Urmila Karad was fond of writing poetry since childhood. Her first poetry collection ‘Sameer’ was published in 1989. Later she wrote many popular poetry collections including ‘Are Sansar Sansar’, ‘Anubhuti’, ‘Mazi Mai Dudhavarchi Sai’.  She had deep study on saint literature.

Urmila Karad’s mortal remains will be kept at her residence Gnanmandir in Kothrud on Thursday, July 21 from 9 am to 9.30 am. After that, her body will be cremated at Vaikunth crematorium at around 10.30 am.

Poetess and writer Urmila Karad gave valuable support to her husband Dr Vishwanath Karad in the establishment of MIT Institute. Originally from Nashik, Urmila Karad graduated from Nashik’s H.  P.  T.  college.  She had much interest in saint literature. Urmila Karad created her own identity as a poetess and writer.
