New Delhi: Addressing the Indian expatriate community in France on Monday, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that India will become the third largest economy by 2027. At present, we are the fifth largest economy, Goyal said. By 2027-28, we will be the third largest economy in the world. India is a $3.5 trillion economy today and will become a $30-35 trillion economy by 2047, when we celebrate 100 years of independence.

The Union Minister said that last year the exports were USD 676 billion. He said, “Our aim was to capture the spirit of young and enthusiastic Indians. In 75 years of independence, we have crossed $750 billion in exports. Today we are emerging as a growing country, one of the world’s leading pharmacy as the food bowl of the world and as a reliable partner for other countries.”

He said that today everyone is looking towards the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to solve the challenges of the world. Goyal said that India attaches great importance to the partnership with France. Addressing the Indian diaspora in Paris, he said, I am sure, each one of you believes that this partnership will grow further, both in terms of opportunities and friendship. You all will play an important role in taking our partnership forward.

He said, PM Narendra Modi is the most popular and favorite leader in the world and he is also known for his commitment to take care of India and the world. As we believe in ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’, the world is looking towards his leadership. He also lauded the Indian diaspora, saying, today’s India is the new India that each one of you represents, with potential, capability, competence and confidence. As a national ambassador, you are contributing to your workplace and motherland.
