Deccan Queen Express gets LHB coaches, Check pics inside

Mumbai : The train Deccan Queen will have Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches from June 22, informed the officials on Tuesday. ‘Deccan Queen’ was introduced between the two premier cities of Maharashtra — Pune and Mumbai on June 1, 1930. The train was restored by the special train services with a ‘Vistadome coach’ last year.

Deccan Queen running between Mumbai and Pune covers major stations including Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Neral, Lonavala, Khadki and Pune. Deccan Queen Express completed 93 years in service on June 1.

Deccan Queen is the only one of its kind on Indian Railways to have a Restaurant Car.

Deccan Queen will also get a new look. Over 40 passengers will be able to sit and eat in this coach.

A modular kitchen is attached to this coach. Special care has been taken to prevent fire.

All the coaches of the new train have undergone internal and external modifications. Each coach will have CCTV, fire extinguisher, newly designed toilets.

An LHB Vistadom coach has also been added to the train. “Modified Deccan Queen Express will run from June 22,” Central Railway’s general manager Anil Kumar Lahoti.
