New Delhi: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday asked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to apologize for his critical remarks on Hindutva ideologue late V. D. Savarkar. Addressing a gathering organized under ‘Savarkar Gaurav Yatra’ at Nagpur’s Shankar Nagar, Gadkari said Rahul Gandhi should realize that he has insulted Savarkar.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said the former Congress president should show a big heart and apologize for his “crime”.
Gadkari said, ‘Who has given him the right to insult Savarkar? No one will tolerate the insult of Savarkar. On the other hand, Gadkari also thanked Gandhi and said that he (Rahul) gave an opportunity to the youth of the country to know about Savarkar’s life and message through the yatra.
