New Delhi: The second line of defense has been further strengthened in the border area regarding the festival of Baisakhi and the case of separatist Amritpal. Here, a continuous checking campaign is being run by the police. On Sunday, along with special patrolling by the police in the area, the checking of vehicles was suddenly speeded up and every vehicle passing through the police block was allowed to proceed only after a thorough investigation.
Officials said that on the instructions of higher officials, the police is on high alert in this border area and the second line of defense is being strengthened by continuous blockade. Security has been further tightened. Under the leadership of Ajwinder Singh, in-charge of police station Narot Jaimal Singh and Tarsem Singh, in-charge of police post Bamiyal, the vehicles are being checked by special blockade on all alternative routes in the border area.
An appeal has been made on behalf of the police to inform the police immediately if any anti-social person is seen anywhere in the area. This area borders Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir and is very sensitive from security point of view. For the last several days, the security has been tightened by the police here.
