Amit Shah alerts about the change in population in border area, Asked to keep vigilance

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has asked to keep an eye on the population change happening in the border areas of the border states. Shah gave this alert on Thursday while addressing the National Security Strategy (NSS) Conference, 2022. He said that it is the responsibility of the Director Generals of Police (DGPs) to get all technical and strategic information in their state, especially in the border districts.

Top officials of the country’s police forces are participating in the conference. Shah said that the DGPs of the border states should keep an eye on the demographic changes taking place in the border areas. The Home Minister said that since 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not only emphasized on the internal security of the country, but has also strengthened the mechanism to meet the challenges.

States should give priority to issues related to national security: Shah
Amit Shah said that states should give top priority to issues related to national security. Shah said the government has achieved major successes in terms of internal security, including dealing with terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and militant groups in the North-East. He said that under the leadership of PM Modi, the central government has implemented many such schemes, which have increased communication with the states. At the same time, the budgetary allocation has been increased and emphasis has been laid on optimum use of technology.

The Union Home Minister said, ‘PM Modi has brought a change in the nature of the DGP conference since 2014. We see that many problems get resolved in these meetings. A system in the form of National Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS) has been developed for the first time in the country and it needs to be taken to the grassroots level.
